14 November 2008
The creative works of 280 final year Design and Fine Arts undergraduate and honours students from Monash University's Faculty of Art and Design will feature in the annual Graduand Student Exhibition, which will be launched Friday 14 November, 2008.
Work includes interior architecture (interior design); industrial design (product design); visual communication (graphic design); multimedia and digital arts, sculpture; painting, ceramics; photomedia, printmedia; and glass.
Faculty of Art and Design Dean Professor John Redmond said the exhibition showcased the students' creative journeys.
"The exhibition is the final step in this journey, allowing students to present their pieces to the public and industry and gain an understanding of the ways their work impacts upon others," Professor Redmond said.
"It's a proud moment for the staff who have worked with students to help them realise their potential and equip them with the necessary skills to become professional artists or pursue further research.
"The exhibition also honours our many business and industry partners who are passionate about the arts and support our emerging talent."
Professor Redmond said 2008 had been a year of expansion and enhancement for the faculty with the addition of a new architecture course.
