Monash University Olympics experts available for comment

A number of Monash University experts are available for interview and expert opinion in the lead up to and during the Olympic Games.

Dr Dennis Woodward is a senior lecturer in politics. He is available to comment on Chinese politics, terrorism, and pollution. He is also knowledgeable in the Chinese political economy and the role of China's People's Liberation Army.

Alice De Jonge is a lecturer in law in the Department of Business Law and Taxation and is available to comment on international law, including law of self-determination (Tibet) and international environmental law. She is also available to comment on business law in China.

Professor Bruce Jacobs is an expert in Chinese politics and society. He is available to comment on Chinese politics, history and Tibet (as well as Taiwan and cross-Straits relations). He is also available to comment on terrorism.

Professor Graham Currie is available to comment on any transport issues during the Olympic Games. He has worked as an adviser on all summer Olympic Games since Atlanta in 1996, including Beijing, and is currently working on planning for the 2012 games in London. He has also worked as a consultant in Beijing transport.

Associate Professor David Wright-Neville is Deputy Director of the Global Terrorism Research Centre where his research focuses on the political psychology of violence including ethnic and religious terrorism in multicultural societies. He is available to comment on politics, terrorism, and intelligence.

Geoff Sussman from the Victorian College of Pharmacy is an expert in wound management and drugs in sport. He also has a 20-year involvement with Victorian Gymnastics and was the Chairman of Australia Diving for 10 years. He was the elite team manager at the 1992 games in Barcelona.
