Monash University to hold Jubilee Open Day

Up to 70,000 people are expected to visit a Monash University campus or log on to the Monash website as part of this year's Open Day activities being held on the first weekend of August.

The Berwick, Gippsland, Parkville and Peninsula campuses will host prospective students, their parents and interested community members of Saturday 2 August. The Caulfield and Clayton campuses will hold open day activities on Sunday 3 August.

Monash University Vice-Chancellor Professor Richard Larkins invited anyone interested to come and discover the world of opportunity and learning offered at Australia’s largest university.

"This year Open Day is part of our Jubilee year celebrations. It has been fifty years since Monash University was created by an act of State Parliament and the University has quickly grown to build a strong reputation, not only in Australia but across the world, for teaching and research excellence," Professor Larkins said.

"I want to urge everyone to come and visit the University, help celebrate our past and see some of the work we are doing to help improve the human condition now and into the future.

"The day is designed to showcase each of our Victorian campuses with information sessions, campus tours and a huge variety of activities on offer.

"Prospective students and their parents can enjoy the day visiting our research facilities, laboratories, lecture theatres, galleries and libraries."

On Saturday, buses will be operating between Berwick and Peninsula, while buses will run from 10am on Sunday between Caulfield and Clayton campuses.

Monash University is Australia’s most research-intensive international university. It is consistently ranked in the world’s top 50 universities by The Times High Education Supplement.
