Language Exchange Program
Information
Are you interested in practising a new language with native speakers? The Language Exchange program matches international students with local students who are either:
- studying a foreign language at Monash and/or
- interested in improving their foreign language skills
The language exchange program matches Monash students and staff according to language requested, faculty and availability. Participants are encouraged to meet for approximately one hour per week.
What are the benefits?
Local students
- can improve your foreign language skills
- learn some basic language and conversational skills if you are planning to travel or work overseas
- gain valuable conversational experience if you are studying a language
- increase your understanding of other cultures
International students
- improve your English language skills
- learn Australian colloquial terms and local slang
- share your culture with others
- learn more about the local culture through friendly interaction with other students
