Connecting to guest-wireless

Conference attendees, visitors or guests working for Monash faculties or divisions can be given wireless network access for their time at Monash.

How to connect

1. Obtain a username and password:
   
   Conference attendees
   Conference attendees will be issued with a username/password at the start of the conference by Monash University Venues.
   
   Guest/short term contractors
   Guests will need to obtain a username/password via the Service Desk.
   
   Visiting academics/students
   Visitors from an eduroam participating institution can log in to guest-wireless with their home university username in the format username@university.edu.au eg jsmith@deakin.edu.au
   
   
2. Scan for available wireless networks and select the network that advertises the SSID of guest-wireless. No encryption keys or similar are required.
   
   
3. Once a connection is established, use a web browser to go to an internet site eg http://www.theage.com.au
   
   
4. A login screen will be displayed (using the https protocol).
   Note: You may need to enable pop-ups if they are disabled.
   
   
   
5. Enter the username and password you have been provided. (Visiting academics and students should use their home institution password but write their username in the format username@youruniversity.edu.au eg: jsmith@deakin.edu.au rather than just jsmith).
   
   
6. After reading and agreeing to the terms of use, check the I accept terms of use box and then click on the Login button.

You will now have full internet access.
